Foundation Murrindindi is a grassroots community foundation focused on creating thriving, vibrant and connected communities within the Shire of Murrindindi.

We are an established and respected community foundation representing the communities of the Shire of Murrindindi. We make grants to local organisations and initiatives, and bring people together to build social capital and strengthen our communities.

Foundation Murrindindi is built on the strength of Marysville & Triangle Community Foundation (MTCF). MTCF was formed in 2012 to support local communities in their continued recovery following the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires.

From conception, our Foundation was designed to support the aspirations of the 42 communities within the Shire of Murrindindi, and while the impacts of the fires will be with us forever, there are now broader issues across the Shire that need attention.

That’s why MTCF has evolved into Foundation Murrindindi and will work hard to support and advocate for the entire Shire, and the people who live and work within it.

We are optimistic about the future of our region, and invite you to be part of making it even stronger.

We had an amazing response to our Green Grant Program for 2023.

Congratulations to the 10 organisations and community groups that will receive funding to implement some great projects to create a positive impact on our local environment and promote sustainability.

Examples of project funded in this grant round include; supporting a recycling program at Alexandra Football Netball Club, creation and distribution of free upcycled bag from Boomerang Bags Kinglake, purchase of a worm farm for Strath Creek Public Hall and assisting with upgrades to the food garden at Flowerdale Primary School.
