Since our establishment in 2012, much of our work has been on bushfire recovery across the region. While the impacts of the fires will be with us forever, there are now broader issues across the Shire that need attention. We have identified a number of other areas that need support, including community development, building local community capacity, encouraging volunteering and building resilience.
Foundation Murrindindi is financially sound, and well-governed by highly skilled local people who care about this Shire. We are therefore well-placed to play this broader role in across the Shire.
Over the next few years, we will continue to offer grants and support increased community capacity, but we need to build a sustainable funding base that will enable us to continue to support the growth of this fantastic region.
We can only do that with your support.
There are several ways you can give to make a lasting impact and support the community and the issues you care deeply about, irrespective of whether you can contribute money, time or skills.
Your financial donations will support the growth of the Murrindindi Fund, which will continue to work to support the Foundation’s vision across Murrindindi Shire. A donation of any amount will be met with great gratitude.
Anyone can become a donor, and all donations over $2 are tax-deductible. To enable your donation to be tax-deductible, we have partnered with the highly regarded Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal. They accept and process these donations on our behalf.
To donate offline, fill out the Donations Form and return it to us by email or post.
Anyone can make a gift as a bequest in their will. A bequest is a meaningful way that an individual can leave a legacy that benefits their local community, and can be anonymous or recognised by name if the donor wishes. Speak to your legal advisor about how to set this up.
If you decide to name us as a beneficiary, please let us know, so we can make sure we know how you would like your legacy to make a difference.
For individuals, community groups or organisations who wish to support us at no cost to you, you can open a bank account that benefits our community foundation. Simply open an account with Bendigo Bank at the Upwey Branch using the Foundation’s agency referral number. Income is provided to the Foundation from the bank’s margin – so you can make a difference, without it costing you anything. More details.
The more people who know about us, the more we can do. So please help spread the word about what we do. Follow and like our posts on Facebook and Instagram; if you run a local business, tell your staff and customers; and if you’re a visitor and love our community as much as the locals do, please tell everyone you know to come and visit too.
Give the precious gift of time – whether on a long-term basis or to support us on a project. If you would like to contribute in this way, please contact us. We have a long list of areas where we would appreciate additional support and expertise, from photography to fundraising.
If you have any questions about how to get involved, please give us a call, 0488 007 688.
