Community Foundation holds planning day

A strategic planning workshop was held last week by the Marysville and Triangle Community Foundation (MTCF) at the Marysville Community Centre.

The foundation, which has been established in response to community suggestion that $1 million of Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund (VBAF) monies be administered by a community based board to fund medium to long term community projects post the 2009 fires, will encompass the Murrindindi Shire.

The day long workshop was attended by all directors including those recently nominated following a comprehensive selection process.

Susan Benedyka the managing director of the Regional Development Company (RDC) who has extensive experience in all aspects of planning, developing and facilitating outcomes for rural communities, was chosen to guide the MTCF into the future.

Foundation members now have a clear understanding of the responsibilities and direction they need to take and the next meeting of the board will discuss a number of issues including board positions, sub committees, a website and logo.

It is expected that by this meeting all the recently nominated directors will have been ratified and be able to be made known.
