Foundation Murrindindi provides back to school support.
Foundation Murrindindi is proud to partner with the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) to provide $5,000 of Back to School vouchers to secondary schools across Murrindindi Shire. Back to School (BTS) is a national program that helps reduce the burden of costs associated with the commencement of the new school year by distributing $50 gift vouchers to assist local families in need to purchase school essentials like shoes, school bags or stationery. “Foundation Murrindindi recognises that for some families, the cost of getting ready for a new school year can make life difficult” said Melinda Burgess, chair of the Foundation. “We are please to be able to facilitate the Back to School program within our Shire to directly assist students in our community to be better prepared for their school day and focus on learning. This will also have a longer term benefit for our community”.
Since 2015, Foundation Murrindindi has distributed over $35,000 of Back to School vouchers to schools within the Murrindindi Shire to help support students to engage in learning and strengthen their educational outcomes.
The Foundation is grateful for the support of school principals and staff who have helped to distribute the vouchers to families in need.
