Working in partnership with the CFA brigades of Narbethong, Buxton, Marysville and Taggerty, as well as SES and Forest Fire Management, a free community event was held in October 2016 to assist the local community to prepare for the fire season. The Marysville and Triangle Community Foundation assisted in the planning and promotion of this important event that actively encouraged participants to review their fire safety plans and hear from the experts about the conditions anticipated for the fire season.
